Japanese Cultural Experience

The program provides an opportunity to experience Japanese traditional culture through one-day experience of Japanese culture.

Some of our past activities includes: performing arts such as Kabuki, Bunraku and Noh, traditional culture such as Japanese tea ceremony, Edo Tokyo Museum tour, water and tourism culture seen in Traditional Woodblock Print (Ukiyoe), martial arts such as Sumo training room tour and Judo exhibition tour at Kodokan, Japanese food culture such as Japanese dessert (Wagashi) and food (Washoku) making. These authentic cultural experiences are rare even for Japanese people.

ASJA-MEXT Students will have a deep impression of traditional arts and performances of Japan and will surely feel the strong will of the various stakeholders in always evolving while protecting traditions.

Moreover, they will be able to compare their own countries’ traditional culture to Japan’s. By learning from the traditions that have been passed down from the Middle Ages to modern times, the students have expressed their desire to revitalize their own countries’ traditional culture.
